Alexander Novak: “Energy facilities are 100% ready for the Universiade” 02.03.2019

At the meeting of the federal headquarter in Krasnoyarsk, Alexander Novak, Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, noted that all the measures to prepare the city’s energy system for operation during the XXIX Winter Universiade-2019, that had been planned, were implemented. The Minister stressed that the structures and companies accountable are fully prepared to provide reliable power supply not only for sports infrastructure, but also for all residential and industrial consumers.

“A lot of work has been done. Huge amounts were invested in the preparation and organization of power supply, in power lines, in the construction of new substations, the construction of temporary loops, and the delivery of diesel generator sets. ROSSETI-IDGC of Siberia's enterprises served as bases to create the Universiade's power supply management and safety centers and the control center of power grids in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. According to the results of today's meeting of the federal headquarter, I know for a fact that all energy facilities are 100% ready for the Universiade,” said Alexander Novak.

Pavel Livinskiy, the head of ROSSETI Group of Companies, said that the holding's experts performed a large amount of work, that allowed not only to prepare the city’s energy system for the Universiade-2019, but also to lay a foundation for its development for the decade to come.

“I want to emphasize that all the work aimed at the reconstruction and improvement of the Krasnoyarsk power grid sector was connected not only with the forthcoming ten days of the Universiade. Our main task was to lay a solid foundation for the implementation of the “Digital Transformation 2030” concept in Krasnoyarsk in the electric grid sector. Also, the goal was to create the necessary infrastructural conditions for the development of small and medium-sized businesses and improve the quality of life of the population of the region through its transition to a digital economy. "ROSSETI turned all the plans into reality,” said Pavel Livinsky.

In preparation for work during the Universiade-2019, the specialists of the ROSSETI group in Krasnoyarsk performed the following: a new substation of the 110 kV Ozernaya class was built; 11 supplying centers of 110 kV and 220 kV were reconstructed; 115 cable lines of 0.4-10 kV voltage classes were comprehensively reconstructed within the city; more than 75 km of wires were replaced; over 230 km of overhead lines were installed; high-voltage equipment was replaced at 68 substations 110 kV; PSP systems were replaced at 25 substations; electrical equipment was completely replaced at 145 ТS and  DS; also, power transmission line right-of-ways were cleared and expanded.

Interregional training exercises for power engineers have been held in November-December 2018 to become an important stage in preparing the electric grid sector for operation during the Universiade. More than 800 people and more than 280 units of special equipment from five companies of the ROSSETI group have been involved in this event.

The maximum usage of digital technologies and advanced equipment, capable of transmitting online data on the operation of a power facility and the possible interference of unauthorized persons in its functioning was made during the reconstruction. Thanks to this, the power control center and security control center, which ROSSETI has managed to create in Krasnoyarsk, is today one of the most modern in Russia. These centers can receive and process information and data from all critical energy facilities in real time.

"“The ROSSETI Group" is fully prepared to provide high-quality and reliable power supply to all categories of consumers during the Student Games in Krasnoyarsk,” concluded Pavel Livinskiy.
