Rosseti to invest almost 1.2 billion rubles in the development of Pskov Region networks in 2021

Rosseti to invest almost 1.2 billion rubles in the development of Pskov Region networks in 2021 28.10.2021

During the working meeting, Andrey Ryumin, Director General of PJSC Rosseti, and Mikhail Vedernikov, Governor of Pskov Region, discussed the development of the region's power grid infrastructure and improvement of its reliability. In particular, as part of the investment program, more than 200 km of power transmission lines and 3 MVA of transformer capacity will be commissioned this year.

The network companies Rosseti FGC UES and Rosseti North-West operate in Pskov Region. Since the beginning of the year, they have provided power supply to 16 medical and educational institutions of the region, the memorial Prince Alexander Nevsky and his Retinue installed on the shore of Lake Peipus for the 800th anniversary of the prince’s birthday, completed the upgrade of the 330 kV Velikoretskaya substation, thereby increasing the reliability of power supply to over 620 thousand people. The aggregate approved amount of funding for investment programs of Rosseti Group companies in the region for 2021 comes to 1.16 billion rubles.

One of the main issues discussed at the meeting was the implementation of the program to improve the reliability of the power supply to consumers in Pskov Region in 2022–2024. The renovation measures for the power grid of the region take into account the results of the detailed networks analysis carried out earlier. Their list should include the technical re-equipment and reconstruction of 114 facilities of 10 kV, the purchase of 10 additional standby power supplies with a capacity of 100 kW each and 139 units of vehicles and special equipment. The program implementation cost will amount to almost 5 billion rubles. The source of funding for the events remains the main issue.

"In Pskov Region, processing and food industries are concentrated, the infrastructure is being upgraded. The tourist interest in the region is also growing. Further socio-economic development depends, among other things, on the power grid. To improve the reliability of power supply to consumers in the face of more frequent weather anomalies, a number of additional measures have been developed. Their implementation, along with those previously planned, will reduce future risks of blackouts and minimize the time needed to restore power supply in the event of a breakdown," Andrey Ryumin noted.

"Of paramount importance is to work out the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation to implement and ensure funding of a separate program for Pskov Region to improve the reliability of power supply. The program is very significant and designed for several years. The program implementation cost will amount to almost 5 billion rubles. It will allow us to get the networks up and running and avoid massive and prolonged power supply interruptions in the region," Mikhail Vedernikov noted.

Rosseti has allocated 606 million rubles in 2021 to prepare the power grid complex of Pskov Region for the heating season. The maintenance and repair program has covered 635 km of power transmission lines, 26 substations of 35-110 kV, including the key power center of the second largest city in the region – Velikiye Luki; 4 thousand hectares of rights-of-way have been cleared.

Preparation of the power grid of Pskov Region for the heating season is completed in full.
