In 1994, Andrei Mayorov graduated from the Moscow Power Engineering Institute, majoring in Electric Power Systems and Grids.
In 2004, he received professional retraining in Energy Company Management in Market Economies from the State University of Management.

Andrei Mayorov has more than 25 years of service to the electric power industry.
He started his career in 1985 as a 4th category electrical fitter for transformer maintenance of Kumertau Electricity Networks, Bashkirenergo.
In 1994–1995, he worked as a substation foreman of Central Electricity Networks, Orenburgenergo.
In 1995–1999, he was a 1st category engineer of External Connections and the Head of the Commercial Department of the Electricity and Heat Sales Division of Orenburgenergo.
In 1999–2000, he was the Head of the Commercial Department of Energosbyt, Orenburgenergo.
In 2000–2001, he was the Deputy Director for Electricity Sales of Central Electricity Networks, Orenburgenergo.
In 2001–2005, he was the Director of West Electricity Networks and the Deputy Director General for Electric Grids of West Networks, Orenburgenergo.
In 2005–2010, he was the First Deputy Director General for Production and Chief Engineer of MOESK.
In 2011–2014, he worked as the First Deputy Director General and Technical Director of UNECO.
From 2014 to 2018, he was the Director General of UNECO.
On November 23, 2018, he was appointed as the Deputy Director General and Chief Engineer of ROSSETI.
On April 24, 2020, he became the First Deputy Director General and Chief Engineer of ROSSETI.
On May 29, 2020, he was elected to the Management Board of ROSSETI.
