Andrey Sharonov graduated from the Ufa Aviation Institute, majoring in Electrical Engineering, in 1986.

He graduated from the Russian Presidential Academy of Public Administration, majoring in Law (Advisor and Expert on Market Economies), in 1996.

Candidate of Science (Sociology).

Professional background:

1987–1989: Secretary of the Komsomol Committee, Ufa Aviation Institute; postgraduate student, Aviation Instrumentation Department, Ufa Aviation Institute.

1989–1990: Subcommittee Chairman, Youth Committee of the Supreme Soviet of the Soviet Union.

1990–1992: Secretary of the Central Committee, Komsomol; Chairman of the State Committee on Youth Policy of the Russian SFSR.

1992–1996: Plenipotentiary Representative of the Government of the Russian Federation on Youth Affairs; Chairman of the Youth Committee of the Russian Federation.

1996–1997: Head of the Social Policy Department, Ministry of Economic Affairs of the Russian Federation.

1997–2000: Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs of the Russian Federation.

2000–2007: Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Russian Federation; Secretary of State.

2007–2010: Managing Director, Troika Dialog.

2010–2013: Deputy Mayor on Economic Policy, Government of Moscow.

2013–2016: Rector, Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO.

2016–present: President, Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO.

He is currently the Chairman of the Board of Directors of NefteTransService.
