Sergey Isaev, Chief Engineer of Orenburg City Electric Grids of Orenburgenergo branch, comments on this issue: “Scheduled maintenance works on electric grids were launched in March and will last till late autumn. During this period, we have to put the equipment of our transformer substations in good working order and perform repairs on power transmission lines. For electricians, it is hazardous to work on energized electrical installations. Hence, according to the industry-specific safety rules, any works on or close to live electrical installations are strictly forbidden. That is why power engineers have to shut down the equipment”. Up to date, specialist of Orenburg City Electric Grids have completed repairs of 0.4-10 kV power transmission lines with an overall length of 44 kilometers out of planned 96 kilometers, 33 transformer substations and distribution stations out of 94 power facilities that were scheduled for repairs.
