Acting head of Dagestan Sergey Melikov paid tribute to Rosseti's efficient work in emergency situations and investments in the renovation of the region's power grid complex

Acting head of Dagestan Sergey Melikov paid tribute to Rosseti's efficient work in emergency situations and investments in the renovation of the region's power grid complex 29.01.2021

During the meeting dedicated to electricity and gas supply of the Republic of Dagestan, held today in Makhachkala, Sergey Melikov thanked the management and employees of Rosseti: “You promptly respond to any power outages in our region. What is more, quite often you have to restore not only your sections of power grids, but also those that belong to municipalities or are completely ownerless".

He also drew attention to the non-payments to Rosseti by public utility companies. "These debts lead to a lack of funds for the proper maintenance of power facilities... I am grateful to Rosseti for the fact that despite the economically unjustified tariff and the low level of payments for electricity, the company continues to invest its own non-tariff funds in the energy system of Dagestan," stated Sergey Melikov.

The event was attended by Pavel Snikkars, Deputy Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, Andrey Mayorov and Larisa Romanovskaya, First Deputy Directors General of Rosseti, Pavel Grebtsov, Deputy Director General, and Vitaly Ivanov, Head of Rosseti Northern Caucasus.

More than 3.1 million people live in settlements within the service area of Rosseti in the territory of Dagestan. The priority task is to systematically increase the level of reliability of power supply to consumers.

In 2019-2020, high priority measures were taken (volume - 1.66 billion rubles). Almost 5,000 km of ETL, 99 substations of 35-110 kV, 793 transformer stations were repaired. During the meeting, the program aimed at improving reliability until 2025 was discussed (more than 5,500 km of ETL, 90 substations and 1,889 transformer stations).

The program aimed at reducing losses was launched (volume - 10.7 billion rubles).
- In 2020 and early 2021, more than 7,000 smart metering devices were installed. By 2022, 277,000 smart meters will be installed, 5,200 km of networks will be reconstructed, 716 transformers will be replaced, and 177 vehicles will be purchased. This will allow us to reduce electric power losses to 21.13%.

The company initiated the consolidation of power grids and the subsequent reduction of accidents at the facilities obtained. Even in Makhachkala, the capital of the region, the share of worn-out equipment at ownerless facilities and third-party grid companies is 80%. This leads to frequent power outages, while restoration works at ownerless facilities are often have to be carried out by specialists from Rosseti Northern Caucasus.

Also, the fight against non-contractual consumption and illegal technical grid connection remains the key area of focus in Dagestan. In 2020, 914 statements were drawn up for 152.7 million kWh, but in fact there are even more connections. Among the reasons are illegal squatter development, the lack of land parcel documents and documents for capital structures, allowing consumers to carry out a technical grid connection officially.

According to the Head of the Republic, there are production facilities in Dagestan that are ready to manufacture products for the needs of Rosseti Group of Companies: "These products can be used to implement Rosseti's programs aimed at modernizing power grid complex in the Republic. This is a mutually beneficial cooperation for the benefit of the region's economy, the grid company and people".
