The Russian Ministry of Energy confirmed the readiness of the Rosseti group of companies for the 2019/2020 cold season. The order was signed at the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and posed on the organization’s website.
The Ministry of Energy confirms that Rosseti complies with all the requirements of the established rules for preparing for the autumn/winter season, which were approved by the relevant order of the Ministry.
“This year, nature already tested us for strength. In October, in a number of subjects of the Central, North-Western, Ural Federal Districts, weather conditions were complex, and even there were spontaneous phenomena that are deemed to be abnormal for this time of year. At the same time, we manage to avoid large-scale blackouts at electric grid facilities thanks to the drills that we conduct continuously in the regions of Russia. The upcoming heating season, our task is traditional: to pass it with even higher reliability indicators than in the past,” said Pavel Livinskiy, Rosseti's CEO.
In preparing for the winter peak in the power grid companies of the Rosseti Group, a set of activities has been taken which is aimed at improving the reliability and quality of energy supply. In physical terms, the annual maintenance and repair plan was exceeded with regard to the main work specifications.
To work in the autumn-winter period, 10,036 teams were formed consisting of 49,270 power specialists, including 583 mobile crews. To eliminate the effects of weather events and technological disruptions, more than 23,000 vehicles may be involved. The specialists of the Rosseti Group have 5,743 backup power supply sources at their disposal, which are ready for use during emergency recovery work.
