Two world energy leaders – Rosseti and EDF – signed a Memorandum on joint work on digital transformation of power grids 07.06.2019

Rosseti, the operator of one of the largest power grid complexes in the world and the Russian driver of the introduction of advanced technologies and innovative solutions in the electric power industry – and Electricite de France (EDF), the global leader in the field of low-CO2 energy and expertise in the construction of intelligent networks – signed a Memorandum of cooperation in various areas at SPIEF 2019. 

The document was signed by Sergey Sergeev, Deputy General Director for capital construction of Rosseti, and Maryan lenyo, senior Executive Vice President of the EDF group, the head of international activities, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company. 

"I am glad that we have reached an important stage of our cooperation with Rosseti, it will allow us to work on specific projects for the digitalization of distribution networks," Marian Legno said.

The parties agreed to implement a number of pilot projects in Russia within the context of the approved concept of the Rosseti Group - Digital transformation 2030, including cooperation in the creation of digital distribution networks and the development of intelligent accounting systems, as well as technical cooperation aimed at improving the efficiency, reliability and security of the infrastructure of the Rosseti Group. 

In addition, Rosseti and EDF will strengthen information exchange to find opportunities for joint projects related to the development, modernization and digitalization of power grid complexes in third countries. 

A separate paragraph of the Memorandum provides for the creation and management of laboratories for the study and testing of innovative digital equipment for electrical networks in order to optimize the selection of technical solutions for the development of smart distribution networks.
