Today in Moscow the State Duma of the Russian Federation held an extended discussion on the issues of legislative regulation of the integrated power grid complex digital transformation.
During the meeting, chief adviser of PJSC ROSSETI, Konstantin Mikhaylenko, presented main aspects of the Digital Transformation 2030 concept.
As the top manager of ROSSETI noted in his speech, introduction of digital technologies in the integrated power grid complex will open up new opportunities for the industry, including development of the market for electricity storage services and power grid reserves, providing network infrastructure as an innovation testing area, managing data and selling data to stakeholders and providing access to data factory technologies to other market participants.
“On a national scale, the main digital transformation effects will be provision of energy independence and infrastructure provision of economic development, improving quality and accessibility of transmission and technological connection services, development of competitive markets for related services”, Konstantin Mikhaylenko noted.
With that said consumers will receive an increase in quality and availability of services for the electricity transmission and technological connection, opportunity to participate in regulating their own consumption. The ROSSETI representative underlined that it would not require increasing in electricity tariffs.
"The digital technology introduction will not lead to an increase in tariffs for services for the electric energy transmission since costs for the current equipment operation will be consequently reduced and the savings received will be directed to the implementation of investment programs and measures for the further digital transformation of the integrated power grid complex", Konstantin Mikhaylenko noted.
We recall that ROSSETI was one of the first energy companies in Russia to announce the beginning of the digital transformation. At the end of 2018, the Board of Directors of PJSC ROSSETI approved the Digital Transformation 2030 concept.
