The electric power experts discussed the technogical dimensions of the digital network establishment in Rosseti Territory at the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi. They raised the questions of equipment of the power industry enterprises with the cutting-edge innovative and high-potential equipment, automated control, development of automated diagnosis systems, analysis of derived data and anticipated effects.
Mr. Dmitry Gvozdev, Chief Engineer at Rosseti, described the expected network digitalization outcome and touched upon the issues that must be addressed in order to implement the outlined plans: "Grid digitalization will surely lead to drastic rise in production and financial indicators, but we will manage to create an efficient digital network if only the regulatory and legal framework is amended and the model is created."
The speakers fell in with the statements as to the importance of improving regulatory rules, of synchronizing the existing data transmission, diagnosis and control systems, and noted the need to establish new communications channels.
The experts noted some additiona, effects, in particular, the possibility to get rid of manual control and to reduct occupational injuries.
Moreover, the speakers noted that, with the right approach to the grid digitalization project that includes development and manufacture of the cutting-edge equipment and advanced technologies, Russia is well positioned to become a key player on the global market for advisory services and digital electrotechnical equipment export.
