"Rossetti", St.Petersburg and  "Renault Russia" signed an Agreement on development of infrastructure for electric cars 01.06.2017

On Thursday, June 1, 2017, at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum a trilateral agreement was signed between PJSC "Rosseti", Administration of St. Petersburg and CJSC "Renault Russia". Its goal is the complex development of urban electric car infrastructure.

The document fixed the intention to create favorable conditions for the transition to electric transport use, development of infrastructure and the introduction of the concept of "smart city" in St. Petersburg.

Together the Parties will review the existing network of electric charging stations, as well as develop prospective targeted program.

Within the All-Russian program of charging infrastructure development for electric transport, about 150 charging stations have been already installed in the country. There are 15 charging stations that can charge electric cars of any capacity in St.-Petersburg and Leningrad region.

"Today the initiative of the company "Rosseti", which began the work on development of charging infrastructure for electric transport in 2012, receives an important impulse for further development," - said the Director General of PJSC "Rosseti" Oleg Budargin during the signing ceremony.

The total planned investment of PJSC "Rosseti" under the project is 100 million rubles. Phased work will continue until 2021.

While the formation of an electric charging station network in St. Petersburg, the company "Rosseti" relies on one of the key aspects that is a potential positive impact on environmental situation in the city. As Oleg Budargin said, "the desire to preserve and improve the environment of the Northern capital as a city for living and tourism, which is a part of the UNESCO World Heritage, is the main stimulus for the development of charging infrastructure."

Continuing work on the creation of charging infrastructure, Russia will be developing in accordance with the global trends of electric transport development.

On June 19, 2015, PJSC "Rosseti" and Renault Russia signed an Agreement on cooperation in the sphere of implementation of the Program for formation of charging infrastructure for electric transport in the territory of the Russian Federation.
