Welcome to the International Electric Power Forum, taking place in Moscow for the fifth time.
It is rightfully considered one of the industry’s main events of the year, giving the leaders of major corporations, researchers and experts the unique opportunity to discuss professional matters, share experiences and interesting ideas, and reach agreements on cooperation. Moreover, RUGRIDS-ELECTRO is also a terrific platform for the showcasing of cutting-edge electrotechnical equipment, IT solutions and other state-of-the-art advancements by Russian and foreign specialists.
This year, the central theme of the Forum is the roadmap for the “Energynet,” just recently approved by the RF Presidential Council on Russian Modernization and Innovative Development. This is without question an ambitious project. It envisions the creation of “smart” power grids – an energy system designed to reliably, qualitatively and continuously supply people with heat and light. This will necessarily entail the ramped-up deployment of the latest scientific advancements and smart-energy technologies, as well as the use of alternative sources of energy – including renewables.
I expect that in the course of your discussions you will take a look at the architecture of our nation’s future power grid: from energy generation to consumption. And of course – that particular attention will traditionally be paid to the development of environmentally-friendly electric transportation, including increasing the number of charging stations for electric cars.
I wish everyone the successful elaboration and formulation of specific proposals destined for swift practical application. And to Forum guests in particular – fantastic memories of time well spent in the Russian capital.
