The Board of Investments under the Governor of St. Petersburg has recommended to assign the status of 'a strategic investment project' to the Federal Test Centre in St. Petersburg. The decision was taken at the Board meeting on Monday, April 6, 2015.
The Project of the Federal Test Center (FTC) is realized by JSC ROSSETI in accordance with the order of the Government of the Russian Federation. The FTC will be erected on 77 hectares of Beloostrov industrial zone. The commissioning is scheduled for the 4th quarter of 2017. Preliminary volume of investments is 10.5 bn roubles. The Federal Test Centre will allow to create new jobs. Currently, design works are being carried out.
"The Federal Test Centre is a very interesting project, not only from the point of view of the city, but from the point of view of the Russian Federation as well. We have to provide it with our maximum support," says the Governor of St. Petersburg Georgy Poltavchenko.
The FTC will carry out the entire list of qualifying trials, meeting international standards, for new and developed equipment for the power grids sector. The equipment of the Centre will allow to develop different test methods, standards and specifications, as well as test equipment after technical failures.
The project involves the creation of a complex of laboratories, including but not limited to high currents laboratory, high voltage equipment stands, climatic chamber for electrical installations testing, dust chamber, seismic laboratory and the laboratory of electromagnetic compatibility and mechanical impact assessment. On the basis of the FTC it is planned to organize an educational centre for staff training.
